Emily Nattress
Pet Care Supervisor
Emily has been working in pet care for just over two years, and her journey into the industry began right here at The Petropolitan. Starting as a daycare attendant, she quickly discovered a passion for creating meaningful experiences for both pets and their owners.
What Emily enjoys most is the opportunity to connect with every client—whether they walk on two legs or four. She takes pride in making each visit feel memorable and positive. While she doesn’t currently have pets of her own, she’s already planning for the future, with dreams of owning a cat and one or two large, cuddly dogs—especially breeds like Leonbergers.
Chynna Shortt
Pet Care Supervisor
With close to 15 years of experience in the pet care industry, Chynna brings a deep and well-rounded background to The Petropolitan. Her experience includes volunteering with AARCS, fostering dogs, working in boarding facilities across Calgary, and even managing an animal shelter.
Her favourite part of the job is simple—spending time with the dogs. Whether it’s cuddling or catching up with familiar favourites like Frida the Labradoodle, those moments are what make each day rewarding. At home, Chynna’s love for animals continues with her puppy Guinness, her cat Roxy, and her two long-time fish, Larry and Curly.
Devan Armstrong
Client Services Supervisor
Devan brings over 10 years of experience working with animals, starting in retail pet care with reptiles, birds, and small animals before moving into grooming and eventually becoming a certified groomer. After joining The Petropolitan in 2021, Devan transitioned into Client Services, where their passion truly lies.
For Devan, the team is what makes the experience special—working alongside knowledgeable, passionate people who genuinely care about animals. Outside of work, they spend time with their dog Jaxx and their cat Emmental, both of whom are equal parts playful and affectionate.
Lindsay Ternieden
Client Specialist
With approximately 15 years of experience in pet care, Lindsay has worked across boarding facilities, dog daycare, and grooming salons before joining The Petropolitan team. She especially enjoys connecting with pet owners—hearing stories about their animals and building relationships that go beyond the day-to-day routine.
Although she doesn’t currently have pets at home, her connection to animals runs deep. She fondly remembers Kai and Breaker, two Australian Shepherds who were a huge part of her life and helped shape her love for herding breeds.
Cora Dawson
Pet Care Specialist
Cora has spent several years working in the pet care industry, gaining experience across different facilities, volunteering in veterinary clinics, and even working on a llama farm in Saskatchewan. Her hands-on experience and curiosity continue to shape her approach to care.
She loves coming to work each day, especially the opportunity to spend time with the dogs—watching them play, interact, and build bonds. While she doesn’t currently have a pet of her own, she enjoys time with her family dog Mia and hopes to one day own another herding breed like the one she grew up with.
Alyssa Blok
Client Specialist
With over five years of experience in daycare and boarding environments, Alyssa has grown from a pet care attendant into a client-facing role where she thrives. She loves being surrounded by dogs and enjoys connecting with pet owners about their furry family members.
Her favourite moments are the everyday ones—seeing dogs arrive with excitement, wagging tails, and big personalities. At home, Alyssa has two cats, Nula and Ohio, who are inseparable and full of personality. While she doesn’t currently have a dog, she’s always keeping an eye out for the right time to adopt.
Maureen Pereira
Pet Care Specialist
Maureen has been surrounded by animals her entire life, growing up in the Philippines where she cared for everything from dogs and cats to turtles and guinea pigs. Her role at The Petropolitan marks her first professional experience in the pet care industry, but her connection to animals runs much deeper.
She loves the relationships she builds with the dogs—seeing their excitement each day and being part of their routine. At home, she has two rescued Chihuahuas, Heidy and Foxy, along with a corn snake named Bubba.
Chandy Hamoline
Business Administrator
Chandy brings over 15 years of management experience and a lifelong love of animals to her role at The Petropolitan. Although this is her first professional position in the pet care industry, her background and passion made it a natural fit.
Often jokingly referred to as the “resident crazy dog lady,” Chandy grew up attending dog shows and working with her family’s Rough Collies. Today, she enjoys being part of a collaborative, passionate team while balancing the administrative side of the business. At home, her three dogs—Lucy, Uzi Le Boeuf, and Circus Jolene—bring energy, personality, and plenty of adventure to her life.
Zoe Bunn
Grooming Specialist
Zoe has been working as a professional groomer for just over two years, but her passion for animals started much earlier. Growing up surrounded by pets, she naturally developed an interest in grooming and animal care.
She values the supportive environment at The Petropolitan and enjoys continuing to grow her skills while working closely with animals every day. At home, Zoe has a cat named Atlas, a small but adventurous companion who even enjoys going on outdoor walks.
