After passing their evaluation, your dog is greeted by our accredited team for a quick check-in and gentle introductions. We confirm records and place them in a compatible playgroup—matched by size, energy, and temperament—to start the day smoothly.
Tailored Play & Enrichment
Once settled, play is professionally guided in climate-controlled rooms with ambient music and custom equipment. Groups rotate through spaces for variety, with light enrichment (puzzles, sniff breaks, cues) to keep minds engaged and interactions positive.
Leashed Walks & Mid-Day Balance
Every pup enjoys two leashed walks to stretch and reset. Full-day guests also get structured nap or chill breaks in cozy enclosures with fresh bedding—maintaining a well-balanced rhythm of movement and rest.
Pick-Up & Day Recaps
At pick-up, we share a friendly summary of your dog’s day. First-timers may also receive a digital report card with highlights—because details matter.
Everything You Need to Know About Daycare at The Petropolitan
- For dogs: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo (DHPP), Bordetella (must be renewed every 6 months)
- For cats: Rabies, FVRCP
We also recommend the Canine Influenza vaccine for dogs, though it is not required.
Yes. Proof of current vaccinations must be submitted before your first visit. For dogs, The Petropolitan requires Bordetella, Distemper/Parvo, and Rabies. They recommend completing vaccinations at least 10 days prior to visiting so they're fully effective. Records are submitted electronically for verification.
Yes. Every new dog completes a behavioural evaluation on their first visit. This ensures your pup is comfortable in a social setting and safe to join group play before being accepted into the daycare program.
Yes. Dogs over 9 months must be spayed or neutered to participate in group play. If a dog isn't a fit for group play, The Petropolitan offers personal-care options so they can still enjoy one-on-one time and tailored activities.
Yes. Puppies can attend from 8 weeks of age once they've received at least two sets of puppy vaccinations. Bordetella is required with completion of the puppy vaccine series, and Rabies is required by 1 year of age.
That's exactly what the evaluation helps determine. If your dog prefers people to other dogs or needs a quieter pace, The Petropolitan provides personal-care options instead of group play. For the well-being of all guests, dogs who are unable to relax in the facility (for example, persistent excessive barking or destructive behaviour) can't be accommodated in group settings.
