At the moment, we don’t have any pets at home. But we are looking to adopt a new furry family member in the new year as we sadly lost our old girl Kai to cancer earlier this year. Kai was an Australian Shepherd who loved all humans and water in any form, she loved going on hikes and playing in all the rivers and lakes! She was also the greeter dog at the store I worked at before The Pet! Breaker was the Aussie we had before Kai, who was born deaf and knew sign language. He loved to show off all his tricks to any person willing to watch! I’m slightly obsessed with Aussies and love working with herding breeds!

Staring at The Pet is my first professional job in the pet care industry! I have over 15 years of experience in management, and this position is an exciting opportunity for me to learn and grow in a new endeavour! Considered to be the “resident crazy dog lady” at my last job, this was the perfect place for me to dive into something new! Growing up attending dog shows and participating in obedience with my family’s Rough Collies, working at The Pet is like a dream job for me!

I currently have three dogs at home. Lucy, my smart & sassy cattle dog mix. I got her as an 8-week-old puppy in 2015, and a year later, we moved to Calgary, where I met my partner & his silly boy, an American Staffordshire, Uzi Le Boeuf. Christmas came early in 2018 when we adopted the sweetest, 50lbs lapdog from Northern Manitoba, Circus Jolene. Having these three BIG personalities is fun and so rewarding! You will catch the girls hiking and camping with us and in daycare having a blast and making new friends, while our old boy prefers the quiet comforts of home, in front of the fireplace or chillin’ in the sunshine!
